I'm Liz, the founder of OmChitta Yoga.
I started yoga in my early twenties and like many, I was initially drawn to yoga for superficial reasons, I wanted to be able to do the splits and other "cool things", and yoga definitely helped me get there, but this was only the start of my journey.
I will always remember my first savasana, the feeling of relaxation that ensued after the first few minutes of agitation and then the calm alertness that I felt afterwards.
Asana (posture) is a tool used to tune in to ourselves, helping our bodies function at their best so that we become more present, connected and joyful in our day to day lives.
OmChitta is dedicated to providing accessible classes to all and introducing you to the journey of yoga. All classes incorporate mindfulness and relaxation in addition to your asana practice. There is a class for everyone, so please do not be scared that you are "not flexible enough", "too old", or "too unfit". This is not important to have a yoga practice, what is important is that you have an open mind and a positive attitude.
